Fundamental understanding
At the Yoga Academy for life and learning, we understand yoga as a philosophy of life and a science at the same time.
~
The Academy:
. explores the treasures of the ancient vedic scriptures which are the origin of our knowledge about yoga today.
. bases its philosophical understanding on the yoga sutras of Patanjali and follows the practices of the raja yoga tradition and the teachings of Krishnamacharya.
. interconnects yoga with ayurveda, the ancient wisdom of health and self-healing.
. seeks to build bridges between old knowledge and modern life and
. utilizing these connections supports individuals
. in integrating yoga into their lives,
. advancing towards their true nature (dharma) by developing their abilities and
. capabilities to live a life in health, happiness and joy..
According to the fundamental understanding of the Yoga Academy, Yoga always includes learning and teaching. We never seize to advance in our development as in every moment of our life we have the opportunity to learn something important. We are always learners. And at the same time, we are also always teachers - not only in our role as a teacher, but also as parents, sons and daughters, managers and employees, friends and neighbours - by passing on our experiences and our knowledge as advisors or partners. Therefore, we are as in life as in yoga - as yoga practitioners, yoga instructors or yoga therapists - always learners and teachers at the same time.
"As within - as without". If we start inside of ourselves to find a more positive orientation, this will inevitably lead to positive changes in the outside world around us - more balance, harmony and health in our bodies, relationships, work situation and in the world at large.
